The children’s Sunday school is run under the guidelines and curriculum set by the American Diocesan Sunday School, which in turn may have been based by Orthodox Sunday School Association of the East. Children are instructed through these classes on our history, beliefs and are given education in the life and teachings of the Orthodox Church.
The OVBS (Orthodox vacation Bible School) conducted during the mid summer holidays is a very vibrant wing of the Sunday School administration. Separate text books, devotional materials, song books and cassettes are published and used for the OVBS every year.
Our Sunday School has 100% of all our members children attending. Liju Mathews is the present Headmaster of the Sunday School. We are fortunate to have such a hardworking and motivated person leading our Sunday School. Sunday School begins on all Sundays except on special functions and vacation days at 8:30 am. Sunday school is dispersed at 9:30 am when the students can then rejoin the Qurbana. We are also fortunate to have a number of very talented teachers who have volunteered to give their time for Sunday School. At present we have classes for grades Pre-Kindergarten to XII grade.
